The Lenovo G550 is an update to the Value Line G530 with the primary difference being the shift from a 15.6” HD, to a 16:9 screen LED backlight. Build and Design:

The design of the G550 has changed slightly from the G530, switching from a smooth matte exterior finish, to a black weave pattern. If you already have Google earth 5.0 then just click on planet button from toolbar and select moon. Where you can similar Google earth controls. Every Apollo landing missions has been chronicled with pictures and stories. The photos taken by the astronauts is presented in a 3D “Street View”.

Google voice launches few weeks back, It’s initially available to existing users of GrandCentral. Later on Google voice starts sending invites daily. Gmail labs always test with lot of expremental features with intrested gmail users.According to the reach and importance of the feature, it will be let passed from labs and available for general use. Tasks was proudly announced as the first graduate to pass from labs. Now you can find this new feature under ‘Contacts‘ and above ‘Chat‘ option. If you already enabled this feature or new user need to access no need to go to settings>labs, just find this feature public as shown in image.

Tasks has been improved a lot better than when it’s launched in Gmail labs. Gmail included mobile and gadget views, also supports for more languages. Gmail improves task editing, managing and integrates with google calander. Overall you can create and manage tasks simple and faster.

Battery Life:

Battery life was excellent, but at the downside of having a gigantic battery sticking out and down from the back of the netbook. With the screen brightness set to 70%, wireless active, and Windows XP set to the laptop/portable power setting the notebook managed 7 hours and 15 minutes with light web browsing. During the test power consumption fluctuated between 6 and 7.5 watts.

Most of the Gmail and other mail user will be frustrated with paypal and ebay phishing messages. I personally had bulk spam messages fraudulent messages from eBay and Paypal often look very official. Gmail been involved in protecting these email phising over the past year, finally today Gmail announces a new feature “Authentication icon for verified senders“  under settings>>>Labs. Once you enabled this feature, you can see a key icon next to verified emails that are super-trustworthy.

“Super-trustworthy” is a technical term I just invented that means: (1) the sender, usually a financial institution, is a target of phishers, (2) all of the sender’s email is authenticated with DKIM, and (3) Gmail rejects any fake messages that claim to come from this sender, but actually don’t - explains Brad Taylor, Gmail Spam Czar.

At present Gmail has Paypal and eBay on their phising mail list, but in feature Gmail plans to add more spammers who tries to hack your creditentials. Users can see the super-trustworthy key icon magically appear by those senders too.
